Experienced Arizona attorneys and legal professionals who bring sharp judgment, real dedication, and a genuine commitment to getting your matters resolved, without the runaround.

Richard B. Stagg is a senior business attorney and former chief legal officer who brings more than four decades of legal and business experience to his role as Of Counsel at Stratman Law Firm. Through the firm's fractional general counsel practice, Richard provides small and mid-sized companies with the kind of seasoned, boardroom-level legal guidance that was previously only accessible to large corporations, delivered with the flexibility and cost efficiency that growing businesses actually need.
Richard's career spans two of the most demanding environments in the legal profession, major law firm practice and chief legal officer leadership at a high-growth international company, giving him a uniquely comprehensive perspective on the legal challenges that businesses face at every stage of their development. He is equally comfortable advising a founding team on their first major commercial agreement and guiding a board through a complex strategic transaction.
Richard is particularly well positioned to serve companies in the direct selling industry. He served as Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel for Isagenix International for more than a decade, during which he helped guide the company through one of the most remarkable growth trajectories in the direct selling industry, from under $100 million to more than $900 million in annual revenue. In that role, he advised senior leadership and the board on a broad range of legal and business matters, built the in-house legal department from the ground up, managed compliance functions, supervised significant litigation and regulatory matters, negotiated key commercial and financing agreements, and supported domestic and international operations in a highly regulated environment.
Before moving in-house, Richard was a partner in the business and finance group at Snell & Wilmer, one of the Southwest's most respected law firms, and previously a shareholder at O'Connor Cavanagh, where he advised public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, financings, securities matters, key contracts, employment matters, and a wide range of other business legal issues.
Today, Richard draws on both in-house and major law firm experience to give Stratman Law Firm's clients access to general counsel-level expertise in a practical, flexible, and cost-effective engagement model, exactly the kind of nimble legal support that defines the Stratman difference.
Richard graduated with honors from the UCLA School of Law, where he was a member of the UCLA Law Review, and earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Arizona, graduating with high distinction.
